Affordable Coastal Living in Fort Pierce, Florida

I was chatting with some people about where I live and realized that this area is still not well known -- so here's a little post about why I live here and why I consider it a "gem" of the Treasure Coast. I'm in Saint Lucie County -- perhaps best known for Mets Spring Training. More specifically, I live in Fort Pierce - a town that has lovely beaches, charming downtown, good nature options and a growing population.

The area is still undervalued (maybe it's from the market crashing and it's now starting to rebuild). The price of homes are starting to go up and I'm cool with that as a home owner. What I appreciate most about the area is the cost of living though. We have the water, the beaches, the pretty land and if you put these homes anywhere else, they'd be insanely expensive.

Miami, for example, is super expensive on the water but then you have to deal with the traffic and congestion. I'm happy to have traffic-free living here. And, I see this town improving. I want to see more people move here, flip homes, rebuild older homes that need the work, build eco-minded homes on land that's for sale. There are so many possibilities.

Anyway, for those who are renting or own in New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, etc., you know what a beast property taxes can be. Check out some of these homes. Now, keep in mind, the homes may not still be on the market. I'm just showing a sample of what is (today) on the market. Starting with a few millions down to the cost of basically like ... 2 cars.

Homes less than $100,000 are in abundance as well and anyone who is handy (or is good at hiring people to fix up some things) can get a nice house and property as well. Why am I sharing this? I'm doing it because I don't understand the concept of living in debt. There are so many homes that are crazy expensive other places that offer no land, no privacy, no real quality of life and the owner's paystub goes directly to paying off debt (mortgage, cars, etc).

Why not live somewhere that offers a better quality of life?

Just sayin ...

I would LOVE to have more people move to town who are entrepreneurs, who are great chefs and want to open up new restaurants (as a foodie, I really would love this!!), we have a great microbrewery in town but I'd love others because who doesn't love a good beer?! And, teachers, police women / men, and overall ... good people. But, mainly the food thing. haha Seriously, we are missing out on some restaurants and I'd love to see more!!!

Ok, that's it for me. Take a look at the photos of my town and the homes for sale (and their price ranges). Hope you fall in love with the possibility of moving here.

And, if you are selling a home on Treasure Coast (Port Saint Lucie, Fort Pierce, Vero Beach) then reach out to me for photography. There is nothing worse than seeing a property for sale with garbage photos or an unclean house. I can help stage rooms so they look more spacious and brighter (and cleaner!!). And, I also can simply photograph them so it attracts more attention from buyers -- that's the ultimate goal, right?! On the market and off the market as quickly as possible and onto the next owner.   =)
